After completing his training at the National Defence Academy, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was commissioned into the Rajputana Rifles. During his early service, he took part in counter-insurgency missions in Kashmir, where he gained important combat experience. Later, he was selected for the elite National Security Guard (NSG) and joined the 51 Special Action Group, specializing in anti-terror operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the 26\/11 Mumbai attacks, he led a team of Black Cat commandos in the operation at the Taj Hotel.
